Well that was a little weak after such a long wait, or perhaps the bar has been set too high. It was good to see the Lost family again, but I was shocked a little when Jack pulled the trigger. Wow that doc is crazy!
Who are the six and who is in the coffin? and why did Naomi die?
Well what show would have you asking so many questions? Lost! Once again tugging at your heart and pulling the wool over your eyes.
so much for my Monkey kingdom under the island ruling the world ... or is it?
Since the discovery of the ONLY 6 survivors from the island then maybe there is still secrets left to reveal...hmmm.
Cant wait to read all the other posts and Blogs...love the fan base!

I am just waiting for the netbeans 6.0 plugin for this project.
I have been working with the netbeans php module for the past week an it is decent enough.
It is no where as GREAT as the Java tools ... but I am working on an OOP PHP WMS that is like a CMS only it manages WebWidgets instead of content. The widgets will manage the content via ajax.
okay enough of a break, back to coding!

Wow I was just visiting some old friends MySpace pages and boom I got sent on some sort of scam! I would have been in real trouble except for I was a smart one and use FireFox as a browser and it saved my but and gave me a warning and an out! Whew! I have loved firefox since it came out and I am very excited about it turning 3! I look forward to more sites using the Firefox/Gears architecture and I am hooked and hope they can begin to be used on mobile devices as I hope to upgrade to a UMPC with the same level of Firefox I enjoy today!
*PS If hitachi needs a beta tester ...hook a brother up!

Well I have just signed up for the zoho tool set. This is a document from the zoho writer! This appears to work pretty good and it uses Google gears for offline usage which appears to be better than what I am getting from my Google folks.

Yet another murmur of the coming of the office killer. I see this as the turning the tide of, not only, desktop applications but rather application platforms. You no longer hold the data and application like before, this is an age of connection and service. We are moving from Mainframes to PC's to a realized UMPC.
The technology is already here and I am surprised no one has been able to produce the device correctly.
The proper device is actually iPhone in a way, only it will use Adobe Air or Google gears to toggle the data set between On/Off line and the applications will be loaded on external flash cards and plugged in to run data stored in flash memory or other flash cards. Using Cell connection until a wifi access point is in range and the connection flips flawlessly between the 2.
Scenario:
An alarm wakes you with your favorite streaming network radio station or song. You get up and scroll through RSS feeds looking for the latest info, then you check current weather and create flight plans.
after breakfast you get an email confirmation and you call over your VOIP/Cell phone and get the latest presentation to look over .... while flying you are able to create other documents and with applications on 1 flash drive and storing data on an other always waiting to reconnect to the network and sync your latest thoughts and update the rest of your team. While waiting in lines you can listen to music watch streaming video or play a downloaded movie also stored on flash cards.
The device will have cell/wifi/bluetooth (all wireless connection) 2 micro flash card slots. 2 fire wire ports. Touch screen, with slide out qwerty keyboard. 600x400 screen 8 hours battery life (continuous use).
Options are the key... plug in camera and portable drivers and applications on flash cards will be the new paradigm. light weight portable and modules. a little bigger than an iPhone, but like modular programs and applications you control how big or small you want it to get...

Welcome to Zude!
Unless you use Firefox. I have been trying to use the Zude site but again I am running into flash promises of great artistry only to be stuck in a mix of UN-user friendly Techniques that only serve to frustrate me instead of feed my creative juices.
I suppose that is why the crappy interface at MySpace works is because it allows you to dump crap on your page and it is so busy you dont notice how crappy it really is..
I wanted to be a fan of Zude but after this last attempt I am taking a break ... maybe later.

Sadly enough this is actually a complaint against Sprint and their customer UN-service, I am currently in the midst of...
Short version Sprint gave me an unauthorized new contract Dec 16th 2006 for "50 convenience minutes?" which I did not agree to and now after calling them a third time to correct it they say to me "Sorry you are stuck with the contract." What? WHAT? WHAT?

Well now for the update! After being tricked into a horrible contract my loving wife calmed me down and helped me to make lemonade out of this criminal Lemon....Grrrrrr.
So we decided if stuck at least be stuck on your own terms so 5 free phones later and a text all you want package for the family we can deal with this for another 2 years....maybe.
PS. Sprint just tried to get a mechanical survey from me over the phone and they dropped the call...classic!

Thanks again to the Google team for keeping the flow of great ideas coming. I really appreciate the addition of web albums on maps. I appreciate pictures and places and the mix of both is very exciting to me. I don't always grasp where I have been and what I have done, till I step back and take a look from space. Then you can say wow, it's a small world after all.
Maybe if we can get a hook in blogger to add blog locations either from or about that link to maps and or maybe a layer to pickup locations in the blog text and offer a link to see it in a map with public pictures..hmmm the mashups just come streaming in.

iGoogle tabs get an update!

Wow what a welcome surprise as I noticed my iGoogle tabs have a new menu option "SHARE" this is what I have been talking about... I want my own customized homepage but sometimes I want to share a great collection of gadgets with a friend or loved one. Awesome and I see iGoogle has opened up the number of tabs too. I am not one of those create a hundred tabs till I can break the code guys but it allows me enough tabs to do what I do...
Thanks again Google I am working on the Mashup editor and trying to comeup with a really good gadget and I am looking into the google gears and also dipping into some netbeans stuff to work with the GWT stuff..so I just dont have enough time to crank it out but I am still in the race...
Keep an eye out for the next up and coming!

Wow I find it interesting that the Java site with its BIG Java One Convention and uncovering the JavaFX product that they are still using Adobe flash to stream their videos? I would have thought Java with all its power and ability to write once and play anywhere it would have an application to present the video segments on their own site. But no, it is using Adobe Flash. So why should I develope with Java if they cant even create a video streaming application .... hmm JavaFX or just use Flash Flex ....what to do? Please leave a comment on what I should try?

Wow this is a great Idea and if they can iron out the wrinkles, this will be a missing link to creating a TV like portal to online media. I have really enjoyed Joost when it works but from time to time I have run into media issues where a program is unable to run for what ever reason.
The interface is nice and is fairly quick although I do run a dual core Laptop with Joost on it so that may be the reason for the speed. Competition from You tube or Google video could happen with the channels method of filtering the massive collection of media into search able lists of results.
I am excited and will keep playing with the beta .... so far it is a GOL!

This is a must see sight if your like Art. The French museum has done a great job of creating an artistic and enjoyable site to display the greatest artistic works in the World. I would love to get time to go back and view them more patiently.
Last time I only had about an hour or more and that was just enough time to run and hit the high points. Which there are many.

Vista upgrade over whelmed?

Well I just got this message from Microsoft "You should receive your order within 4-6 weeks and receive email confirmation when your order is shipped."
What?
I thought they said those who bought Vista Ready PC's in Dec 2006 would get Vista upgrades in February. Perhaps what they meant was Vista upgrade email notices of confirmation of order. My bad.
I originally waited till later in February to see what kind of damage the Vista system did to many of the current programs that I am running on my XP. Now I hear they can only say that 800 programs are officially ready for Vista? and by officially that means as you work, you will find the other untested issues later.
I am really getting more and more interested in other OS's I have been reading alot on Linux and Ubuntu. If I knew I could get all my programs to run on their systems and they were more efficient then I would very much like to make the switch. If anyone knows of a tutorial where you can switch from windows XP to another OS ..someone who programs and uses firefox adobe and openoffice please leave a comment.

Upgrade to Vista in Damery World

Well less than a day later I have a confirmation order number and a confirmation that the order and required documents have been received for the Vista upgrade request. Now I am waiting for another verified confirmation of the upgrade confirmation ...? I am not sure... I would imagine that the computer industry would have things a little more automated than this.

So far I am still running XP Media center...whoo hoo. I hope I don't regret the upgrade.
more later as I get more confirmations of my confirmations.

Well it is time to upgrade my ACER Aspire 5100 laptop running Windows XP media center version to the Express Vista ...
Wow was the Acer web portal Vista upgrade unfriendly. I really had a hard time finding where to go and what to click on ...after about 90 minutes of clicking and waiting I am filling out purchase info so that I can qualify for the free express upgrade. I thought I would blog about it as if someone else cared.
The hardest part so far is getting the exact date of purchase ..I got it after the Black Friday rush of 2006 which was so-so in the Damery World. Some deals but my lovely wife did me good and got a great deal for this at about $700-$750 and that is with 1g ram and an embedded video camera, since I thought I was on my way to Israel for work I wanted to be able to send the family Video messages. Come on this is the tech age, I can be anywhere in the world and be connected.
okay back to the upgrade, finally it was December 1 2006 and now I have to recharge my digital camera to take a picture of the receipt..I don't remember this being part of the deal.
With confirmation number and picture in email I send it off ..oops that was to EMCA now I send another copy to the Americas email ... and ... wait...

Google Domains, what it could have been

Okay I signed up for the Google Domain apps package expecting a world of Google applications all tied to a domain front page. That was not exactly how it turned out, I had to setup on my own domain server basically a redirect to a Google partner page?
What they should have done was allowed you to create your own personal home page and then set up access control. To either allow all to see the URL or allow you to invite guest as they do with Blogger or various online documents.
Then allow us to point our DOMAIN names to the google Personalized pages and no middle man hosting is needed. The you can allow teams of people to access and modify the Groups personalized home page for the business needs.
I am surprised that it has not crossed Googles collective mind. After seeing the Pageflakes[see previous post], they demonstrate that the Idea of a shared and editable home page is indeed a reality and I would think it would be a small stretch for the Google collective to reach...HEAR ME GOOGLE COLLECTIVE?
Well I just shoot these things out there because I really am trying to find the ultimate Google world collective like my Damery World. Please leave a comment if you know of another Google mish mash site.

Well here it is another late night of tweaking and working with my various google tools. I am working on getting a new googler in the main NET stream. She wanted a Frontpage website.
What I gave her was:

Google Reader ... WooHoo

Wow Google does it again. Thank you... I had run out of tabs and each one was crowded with rss feed gadgets and most of them did not have new posts. This is just what the doctor ordered, now I can have one place where all my feeds of interest can come to me and they are still separated by tags or uh I mean Labels whatever they are, the feeds can be grouped.
Now I had tried to use the google notebook application and I still have it but I have not found a good way to use it yet... I am a little over whelmed with info... need to unplug and get back in the real world a bit.
I think notebook will work good for me when I find Programming code or tutorials that I want to keep for reference and maybe for my Family Genealogy searches across the web. I am just unsure what happens when the source is no longer being served.
I just had to blog about what I spent my day doing...loading up my Google Reader with the feeds I want to read. I am still tweaking the feeds, but I really am excited about the application and I still think Google and Adobe Apollo should get together so I can edit email, events, and docs etc. offline.
Then all I would need is a UMPC with 6-8 hours of battery life.
Is that too much to ask?

NetBeans 5.5 java for my Zire 72

Ok I have spent enough time searching for Netbeans 5.5 tutorials and even books on MIDP programming for my poor little Zire 72 handheld Palm device. I will be coaching soccer in a couple months and I thought I could crank out a quick little program to help manage my Soccer team. I have downloaded many various program trials and most are close but the one that did everything was $50. Come on, to train some U9 girls soccer team. I said to myself, I just need to learn how to write java for my Zire 72 and that will be good enough. I have been able to program in any language I need to, by learning the concepts of the language and environment.
I professionally program in IBM's RPGILE but I have taught myself to program in PHP, HTML, I can write JavaScript I have set up my own Apache server and am able to configure that for whatever testing I need. I have learned Java and have programmed applets and JSP pages both as a hobby and in part of my AS400 professional career.
I have been playing with the Googleverse and have "mashed" together my own domain www.dameryworld.com I have been dabbling with creating a Firefox skin and I have tried out the Google domains application...(Not what I was expecting) I am all about reuse of code so the whole Web 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever they call it now is Great for me. I was about to try and put together a PHP flat file CMS using a dynamically created xml data base but I think I will have to just get with everyone else and use the MySql database...I do know how to manage data.
However I go back to my original issue of finding some direction in learning the programming process for Java on a Palm Zire 72. I can find nothing. So, I am just going to dive in with my previous experience of writing Java code back in the Java2 days and push through the issues till I have an application running on my Palm Zire 72 device.
If anyone knows what the programming procedures are that would be great. I am trying to use the visual design process in the New Netbeans 5.5 IDE. I use the IBM Websphere IDE to program for the iSeries in RPGILE so I have something of an idea of the eclipse applications.
I am a fan of Programming and I hope to soon modify this Blog with my own XML, XSTL, DTD style if you know what I mean.

Well the Band Skillet was in town and I was too busy to get out and enjoy the Live show. I do hope they come back through my Damery world again I really think they will have an excellent show with lots of energy regardless of the crowd size.
I have been listening to allot of Switchfoot and Reliant K and the old DC Talk before the split...their last album together was really really good. Then I always spin a little Stevie Wonder ...

I am not sure if that title really does what I am thinking it is doing, but I should probably have a links list to music sites since I want to add ReliantK tot he list too. Guess I have been enjoying my tunes allot more lately. This band is clever and much more of a highschool level where as I would put Switchfoot in a college level... They have some great punkish tunes and can really get your heart hopping. Much the way I remember Undercover back in the day! Boys and Girls renounce the world! Who's with me? Okay who was at cornerstone in 1985? Anyone remember Rez band? Petra? I mean the original Petra..back when they had scriptures with each song. Whiteheart before their sins caught up with them? Damery vs Damery in Axis and Allies

Wow what a night, we started by pulling out the MB board game for Axis and Allies and after looking through all the pieces we knew we did not want that much trouble so I remembered I had Combat Mission Beyond Overlord and then we couldn't find that game and we wanted some war strategy better than Risk so my son found my copy of Atari Axis and Allies for the PC
that has apparently been bought by Encore USA . Long blog short we set up a LAN battle and my son beat me in 4 out of 4 battles. Speed is the difference...I guess my dual core laptop was just not fast enough to beat my son on the desktop pc. All in all, the fog of war and the battle was great My son reminded me that I needed to remember how to build up an air defense to stop his favorite carpet bombing runs.
All I know is a Damery won the war!

CNET- Blogger's sloppy stumble out of beta

I have had 2 blogger accounts and I have been following blogger directions to merge the 2 accounts 1 in the Old Beta blogger and 1 in the old blogger. So far I cant really complain...as a programmer and understanding that in the world of web 2.0 with so many dynamic pieces to the puzzle 1 change can affect other pieces and so it is with blogger. I don't see it as BAD because if you use the blogger part with out third party pieces then it works great but so many have pieces created by others that may not be synced up with the Base blogger portion.
I say full speed ahead, watch for rocks and be aware of the tools you are using ... don't program/blog blindly.

As you can see I am able to work with my blogger blog. I guess Damery World just ROCKS!

I hope they dont drift too far into the pop spectrum but keep in touch with the industrial sound that I have been looking for...
